Bracing in Boys

Statistically it has been shown that bracing in boys typically will not be as effective as it is with girls. Girls have shown to tolerate the correction of the spinal curve better than that of boys. Males are typically stiffer and historically bracing has been less effective. With the newer LA 3D brace, even boys can get a good correction and a good outcome. DJ had a 44 degree curve that has corrected to 9 degrees in his LA 3D brace. As long as he continues to wear it full time for the next year his outcome is great and he will end up with permanent correction.

Great results can still be achieved, especially if braced at a slightly younger age. Justin is 11 years old and has a 25 degree thoracic curve. In his LA 3D brace he corrected to 7 degrees, which is comparable with corrections seen with girls wearing the LA 3D brace.
